Unilabs iPOCT has become the first laboratory in the UKI to be granted accreditation for point of care testing, specifically to international standards ISO 15189:2007 and ISO 22870:2006.
The accreditation of all pathology providers, including point of care testing providers, was a recommendation of the Report of the Review of NHS Pathology Services in England which was chaired by Lord Carter of Coles and published in 2006.
Assessment of point of care services by an external accreditation body is also recommended in the MHRA Device Bulletin Management and Use of IVD Point of care Test Devices DB2010(02) published in February 2010.
